Swimwear Dilemma's - In Search of The Perfect One Piece

In a few weeks time I am going away to Palma in Majorca for a girls weekend away! I have not been a away on a girls holiday since before I had my children. Which is 7 years ago. Yikes. I have really over thought the whole swimwear thing for this trip…. Its a totally different mindset for a girls holiday as opposed to a family one where you are chasing toddlers around the pool. I have spent lots of time online looking for the perfect one piece. I have some swimwear that is a few years old that is perfectly fine for this trip. I have also updated my swimwear and have bought a few new swimsuits.

Swimwear is actually the only category i don’t enjoy shopping for. Since having two C-sections I have a flabby tummy. I have slim arms and legs but really don’t like getting my middle out in a bikini. So its pretty much just swimsuits for me from now on. After shopping most of the high street the vast majority of my swimwear has come from Next. I find that it fits me so well. The cut is not too skimpy. I size up to a 12 (I am usually a size 10 in their clothing) so its long enough in the body. Here are a few of my fave swimwear picks this season and a few of my dream pieces of swimwear….

The jacquard bandeau swimsuit from Next 3 years ago is one of my faves. Because the fabric is jacquard it has great stretch and holds you in. Which is perfect for me and this swimsuit will be worn each summer until it falls apart.

This spot one shoulder swimsuit from Next is also a jacquard fabric (the design is knitted into the fabric). This is current season and I wore it earlier in the year in Crete its such a great fit.

I did go for this Next gingham onepiece . I absolutely love it on, again the fabric really holds you in. I love the scale of the gingham too. For me this is great and will work for my girls trip and family holidays.

This Next high high neck cut away suit is so flattering and great for taking the kids swimming in! I did buy this for that purpose earlier this year.

I do have this old Zara swimsuit which is off the shoulder from a few years ago which is also an easy staple piece. Its not a good fitting as the Next ones however, this does look great worn with jeans or cut off’s too.

I absolutely love the styling of this swimsuit by Faithful The Brand. The bucket hat and skirt worn over the swimwear is exactly how I want to look pool side on my holidays. It just looks effortless and proves you don’t need to buy beachwear. You can re-style the items you wear in the day.

I do love wearing a shirt over swimwear. Like this acne one I picked up second hand at The Fashion Reboot event. I also have an old Zara denim shirt I will take to wear as a cover up I do love the 90’s bucket hat trend this summer. I will be wearing on repeat my & Other Stories leopard bucket hat. So I may have found the perfect one-piece in the swimsuits I already have and the new ones I have picked up. I feel happy they suit my shape and cover me up enough to feel confident. Happy Holidays! All I need now is the sunshine and and Aperol Spritz in my hand.
