Speedo X House Of Holland - Swimwear's Best Kept Fashion Secret
I was so happy and thankful to receive some samples from Anna at Speedo this week. Anna had read my blog post about my swimwear struggles and it resonated with her. Speedo is also a local business based just up the road from where I live in Nottingham. They kindly gifted me 6 items from their swimwear range to try and wear. As you know from my last blog post I am not a lover of shopping for swimwear so I was nervously excited to receive the parcel.
Probably like me you perceive Speedo to be a performance swimwear brand. By that i mean that professional swimmers wear Speedo. Or people whom are strong swimmers and swim regularly wear Speedo. This by the way not me it also not a true reflection of the brand. Speedo has evolved a long way and now looks like a fashion brand that makes incredible swimwear that is fit for purpose. I am not a strong swimmer and my chosen exercise is always running and yoga. That’s it. I am not very experimental when it comes to a fitness regime. I don’t even have gym membership and have not done since having children 6 years ago. So I was unsure that these items of swimwear would be for me.
However I was so happy when I opened the box of samples. Anna sent me 3 items from the Speedo X Henry Holland range and 3 items from the sculpture range. I have to say before I even tried the items on I loved the prints and the fabric felt so premium. When I tried them on they were such a great flattering fit. Not too skimpy but felt feminine and not at all sporty on. They felt very much like fashion items. My kind of thing for sure! The Henry Holland collaboration is so cool, With a cool lux traveler vibe to them. The key prints being tie-dye which is the hottest print to have for SS19. The Speedo main range also looks fresh and modern. Not at all how i perceived the brand to be.
The other genius about these styles is that the Henry Holland colab is made from eco fabric. So that part of the fabric is made up of fibers from recycled fishing nets. In fact Speedo as a brand have the impression sustainability target that by 2024 80% of their range will be made of fabric that is fully sustainable. This is an impressive target that I hope they achieve.
The swimwear is sold through the Speedo website and the Henry Holland website. It is also available on other websites such as Browns, ASOS, Farfetch and Urban Outfitters to name just a few. The prices are very accessible from £30 to £65 for the swimsuits and bikini’s and the long sleeve stand out pieces are £100. I can honestly say I LOVED all the samples and cant wait to wear them on holiday. I may even take up swimming so That I can wear them all more and look cool in the pool!!
